A year ago Ellis became obsessed with "Dirty Deer." This stemmed from an incident in our back yard with a VERY large buck. For many a moon, it was all she would talk about. It doesn't help that on any given morning we might have a whole troop in the yard. [We had 6 in the yard Monday morning.] Just re-enforces her strong feelings [negative ones, if that wasn't clear.] But I have not heard complaints about the "Dirty Deer" lately.That brings us to this afternoon. My little girl is not feeling very good. She has a high fever. I was trying to soothe her and I called her "My dear baby girl." WHAT WAS I THINKING??? Ellis looked at me and said: "I am NOT A DEER. I am a PEOPLE. NOT a dirty deer!!!" Yep. The dirty deer ride again.
