Elf Duties

Tomorrow is a special day. Chase is really excited about turning 8!

She has been talking about her plans for a party. A certain toy that she would like. And how many years it will be before she is old enough to stay at home alone.

The present was bought, and the invitations have been sent... but I almost forgot one of the most important things...

What would that be? Treat baggies for her classmates. I thought I was making cupcakes, but Chase said that would "JUST NOT DO. Candy, Mom. All they really want is a few pieces of candy." [To which I added a few temporary tattoos.]

So the birthday elves had to head back to the store this morning.

And I realized that I didn't have a card for her... or birthday paper that didn't have Dora on it...

So now we have things under control. I think. Ellis has decided that the big present is from her. "Mom, I knew what Chase wanted and told you. So it gets to be from me. You can give her one of the small ones." [Actually Chase pointed it out at the store and told me repeatedly... ] There is a card [Which Ellis already signed all of our names to, and was insulted that Mark and I would want to write our names all by ourselves. ]

We will be baking a cake tonight that will be our "home" cake. She'll get to have cake at Grandma Jean's on Sunday, and then we'll have cake with her friends. Guess you can never have enough cake!
