Growing

Today we had Avery's 15 month check-up. She is growing--as if there were any doubt. 2 lbs and 2 inches since December.

Her stats are:
Weight: 17.5 lbs. (3rd percentile)
Height: 28 inches (below 3rd percentile)
Head: 50th percentile

Perplexing comments... based on Avery's refusal to walk (although she stands, cruises, climbs, and crawls at mach speeds) were that since she shows all the motor skills for being able to walk, that should she not be walking in a month that we should see someone to address her "confidence issues." And, you thought surly teens were hard to counsel.

And in unrelated growing news... Chase has finally graduated out of Toddler Shoe sizing... At the ripe old age of 8, she is now in a Girl's size 13 shoe and gets to shop in a new aisle. She was extremely excited. [A shoe size that I didn't achieve until the 4th grade... ]

My 4'10" mother didn't graduate into adult show sizes until after her first child at the age of 27.

"Confidence issues?" Really? Did they ever just think that she doesn't want to because she's perfectly happy with her other modes of transportation? I don't know about doctors sometimes.

"Confidence issues!" What has our society come to??

And my own 69 year old mother still has to buy shoes in the little girl's aisle!
