Happy Patriots' Day.

This holiday commemorates the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. This was the first armed conflict between Great Britain and the colonies. Emerson called the first shot fired by the colonies the "shot heard around the world."

Today, Mark will be running his umpteenth* Boston Marathon to celebrate. Bib 1171--should you care to follow. The starting gun will fire at 10AM EDT. By 1PM I expect the beer to be flowing.

*Perhaps I should be a little more accurate here... this is Mark's 16th Boston Marathon. An accomplishment to qualify year after year.
