Earth Day.
A reminder that we live on a great planet and have been tasked with a great responsibility.
Now, I know that I do not always do as much as I should.
But even a few simple things, over time, can make a big impact.
So I thought that I would make a quick list of some SIMPLE things:
I recycle as much stuff as I can. [As a testament to this, my neighbor complained to the city that I often have TOO MANY things in my recycle bins. Of course, some of those things are ones that we collect when on walks. If the other neighbors would get their acts together... ]
I bring my own bags. [For some reason this baffles most checkers and baggers. I actually had a checker this week ask if I HAD to use my own bags. It was busy and she thought it would slow down the line too much.]
I have replaced chemical cleaners with things like white vinegar. [Just don't make the mistake I did last week when I decided to clean the dishwasher and left the vinegar in while I was at work. I came home to a house that smelled like we were coloring Easter eggs.]
I buy things with recycled content - toilet paper, aluminum foil, and trash bags. The cost is about the same, and if it helps even just a little bit...
Start adding up everyone's little things and great things can be done.
