Urgh

***Update***

This morning at the bus stop Chase said "Mom, I shouldn't listen to that boy. 'Cause girls are smarter than boys, right?"

Calcium is rearing its ugly head tonight. Way to finish off the first full week of school.

Chase started complaining about the stinging tonight. I asked her if she has been drinking water and using the bathroom at school. The wide eyed stare and the "Ummm." answered it all.

Chase has a steel water bottle that she is supposed to keep at her desk and refill from the water fountain during the day. Apparently, early this week a boy saw her refilling it and told her that the bubbles in it were algae and that drinking it would make her sick. She believed him. In fact she just spent 10 minutes arguing with Mark and me about it. We poured the water into a clear cup to show her it was fine. She refilled it and said "LOOK at the FLOATY things!" Mark and I looked at the clean bottle with bubbles. But, it seems that a 7 year old boy knows more than we do.

So, now she is paying the price. Hoping that it is just a minor flare-up and that a few days of flushing things out will take care of it. We went all summer without a single flare-up. And now this. Makes me want to take a small boy and string him up by his toenails.

Right now, Mark is busy having a talk with Chase that sounds a little bit like "Don't believe everything people tell you. Especially boys. When in doubt ask Mom and Dad. Did I mention not to listen to the boys..."
