Three Weeks

I'll be honest. It's been a blur. You'd be hard pressed to convince me that it has been a week, let alone THREE.

My days are a blur of nursing a baby, trying to contain and pick up after a 20 month old hurricane*:

feeding the natives and attempting to control dishes and laundry (not very successfully, I might add). I naively thought that I would have settled into a routine by now. Oh well. We'll get there eventually, or SOMETHING.

I have been woefully negligent in the picture taking department. Newborns are just so hard to photograph. One picture sleeping looks so much like another, and getting one of Kendall awake and not crying or nursing is difficult since those moments are few and far between. I think Kendall looks very much like the other girls as babies. Check out this pic of Avery at 2 weeks and these of Kendall (Why are babies SO SERIOUS):

Kendall gave me her first spontaneous smile this week. She likes to hear me sing to her. I have been trying to catch one on camera, but they are quick and fleeting. This is the tail end of one of them:
*Avery seems to be taking things in stride. Of course that means asking anyone to pick her up and carry her and trying to leave with every visitor. When she isn't trying to jump ship, she is busy texting Daddy (asking him to come rescue her?) she has figured out how to unlock the phone, has been caught downloading (free thank goodness) ring tones and sending random texts. This picture was of her in the bouncy chair on the kitchen counter.
