Week One

Kendall Virginia Godale was born August 28, 2011 at 11:01 am.

She weighed in at 7 lbs even and was 18 inches long.

She has been a nursing pro, and a great sleeper. She has been giving me several 3-4 hour stretches over night and compared to the 25 minute snippets I was getting before she was born, these stretches are divine.

She is starting to come out of her newborn coma during the day. We are seeing her eyes more and she notices when she is put down. Still so small that I don't really feel comfortable with her in a sling/carrier.

My swelling is still in full swing. I think it is slightly better--I can now feel my pinky fingers. Slow progress. Was told that on top of my pregnancy edema I also have to process all the IV fluids. Told to expect it to take 2-3 weeks.

Everyone is adjusting, settling in, and very much in love.
