Shoes

I preface this entry with the comment that I am venting.

I have just gotten home from what happens to be the 14th store that I have gone to looking for shoes. I started two weeks ago. I wanted to find a really comfortable pair of black ballet flats to take to the convention center. I am going to be doing A LOT of walking and am supposed to be dressed as a professional. As if covering my belly isn't challenging enough, my slightly swollen feet are their own challenge.

As of today, I wasn't even caring if the shoes were super comfy. I just wanted to find something in my size. There was one pair of size 5 stilettos in chartreuse at one store. Uh, not.

Of the 14 stores, only 3 even carried anything smaller than a 6. Of the 3 that did, if they had a 5, I needed a 5 1/2. If they had a 5 1/2, I needed the 5. The curse of being on the edge. And the reason that I hate the idea of having to order shoes online and pay for shipping and then the hassle of a return when I hate the way that they feel.

What is with all the stores that don't carry this size, at all? I don't remember shoe shopping being this hard. Outlets were usually the best place to find 5's. But the 6 stores that fell into that category all told me that they start at 6. Sigh.

I even tried the kids sections, but I am not interested in wearing a pair of Mary Jane's with Hello Kitty on the side.

Even if they did fit...
