cat-herding (verb) : Persuading a group of independently minded people to go in the same direction; (alt): a difficult, frequently failing enterprise in leadership.
When I read the definition I think it should list some synonyms-- like Parenting!
Avery takes the term a little more literally.
I think the cat deserves a prize for patience!
