35 Week Update

I had my weekly check-up today, and things are in kind of a boring holding pattern. So here is a quick update.

All the typical end of pregnancy complaints:

  • It's hard to sleep
  • Skin is itchy [that strange leg rash is back -- which is atypical]
  • All my joints are relaxing and spreading [causing my hip to painfully pop out of socket.]
  • Despite the medication, I am still getting some bouts of strong painful contractions, but they aren't really doing much.
But I did get some news that put my mind at ease today. The baby is head down and engaged [Her head is stuck down in my pelvis which would make it VERY hard for her to flip, even if she wanted to do it.] Why is this such good news? Because I have been having nightmares that she was breach and I had to have a c-section. Which, of course, I would like to avoid if possible.

I also had an ultrasound, because I am still measuring small. This kid has a big head(50-75%) and short legs (10-25%). With all the measurements she averaged out to 30%. Everyone seemed happy with that, so on we go.

Yay! 30% is more than I would have guessed! That sounds really good for one of your babies! I hope she hangs on for 2 more weeks, even though I know you probably feel ready. I know you're uncomfortable. Saying prayers. Hang in there!

30% is pretty good for a Godale girl!
