Deception

Gingerbread House.

Sounded like a fun family project.

Deception.

We had a basic kit. Supposed to be 6 simple steps.

Of torture.

No one wanted to wait the 15 minutes of drying time in between steps.

So everything was drooping and falling apart. Notice the play food holding the roof up?

And then I heard nothing but "Can we eat it now?" for the next hour.

So I gave in - and within minutes it came to this.

This has me rethinking letting the troops make Christmas cookies. I am not at peak patience levels at the moment and crafty baking with small people takes more out of me that I can afford right now.

And all I wanted to do was capture a little bit of Holiday Spirit. Maybe we need to stick to something a little more basic right now.

Like crayon drawings of Christmas trees.

Looks pretty good to me! No way would I ever even attempt something like that!
