Probably should be checking it twice. [I seem to be flaking on a lot of to-dos that are NOT baby related these days!]
Not finding out who's naughty or nice. Just trying to make sure to get all those last minute family prep things taken care of before the baby comes. And since I have so many things checked off the list I feel like she'll probably take her good old time about getting here.
Work is all set. Turned in my Family Medical Leave paperwork and had it approved. This will give me 12 weeks after the baby is born to ramp back up to 20 hours a week, and keep my benefits without interruption. This is actually great timing, because we are entering the slow time of year, and because of the economy and whatnot, I foresee that I would not have been getting enough hours anyway in January or February to sustain my levels.
Baby clothes are all washed and put away. The Moses basket has clean sheets. The car seat has been re-covered and the snap-in-bases were taken down and cleaned yesterday. [They just need to be installed in the vehicles. Which might be a tight squeeze with 3 safety seats, but I think it is do-able.]
Christmas shopping is done for Chase and Ellis [And birthday for Ellis.] But I do need to figure out something for Mark and the parental units. So this is only partially checked off.
The only thing that might prevent this new baby from deciding to wait it out, is the fact that she does not have a name. There has been no consensus. I had thought we were done, but the new 50 name list my husband emailed me yesterday makes me think that is not the case [Yes, this is so heated that we can't even talk about it anymore. We send passive-aggressive emails to one another. I know it is sad. He sends me lengthy and crazy lists and I send him back my TWO name list.] So, she could make a bit of a stir by showing up just a little early.
