No Apologies

I am going to wish you ALL a Merry Christmas. Whether you celebrate it or not.

Chances are that you do - both Gallop and Rasmussen Reports have done polls that show that somewhere between 94-96 percent of Americans celebrate Christmas, either as a religious or secular holiday.

I have had my fill of holiday greetings that go something like this "Merry Christmas (if you celebrate.)" Do we really have to wish people well with parenthesis? It is a national holiday, for goodness sake. In some ways it is just saying "Have a nice day." And what is so offensive about that?

So, I am saying it. Merry Christmas.

PS: And if you must, you can wish me a Happy Hanukkah, a Happy Kwanzaa or even a Happy Birthday. And I will gladly except them all, because by saying it, you are really saying that you care.
