Blankie Land

We have blankets at our house. More importantly we have some of the sub-species Blankie Animae, [You might know this as a blanket with a personality]

Chase has FOUR blankies. Her first love is Brownie. Next is her new love, Pinkie, and the trusted standbys are Bluey and Yellowy. [She wins no prizes in the naming department.] Brownie and Bluey are boys. Yellowy and Pinkie are girls. Brownie and Yellowy can speak to each other using sign language. Bluey and Yellowy can talk just like you or me... and boy can they talk. Apparently their chatter is keeping Chase awake at night. But don't EVEN suggest that they not share her bed!

Now Ellis is no better. She has her favorite, Blankie Man, aka Snowman blanket. [See picture] She has a variety of small blankets that sometimes catch her fancy like Butterfly Blankie. But most recently she has taken over the sofa blanket. It was a gift from my sister, years ago, and has one side that is suede like and one side that is fluffy. It has now been named Cat Blankie and is often a cause of fighting [We all want to use this cuddly soft blanket!!!]

So at our house you might hear some strange statements. [All examples from the past few days.] "Brownie thinks that Bluey needs a bath." "Blankie Man is cold and needs Cat Blankie. " "Yellowy took my corner." "Brownie wants to read a book right now. And he's hungry for some cheese."

It is a sneaky species. Known to hide when you want them the most. But overall, a very soft and sweet pet. They travel well and are allowed at most major hotel chains. But ours, because of sheer number, require their own carrier/suitcase!
