January Study Break

Reminder: Resolved. To read 12 books of the Bible this year.

Quandary: Which 12? Where to start? This quandary delayed my start by... well, about 19 days.

Solution for January: Read a shorter book. The one I chose? Galatians.

Highlights: The reminder that we can be saved by faith, alone. And Paul's advice to us all on how to live a Spirit-filled life. Paul spends a lot of time telling the Galatians about Abraham, Sarah and Hagar and relating it to the legacy we have as Free Children. Children of a Promise. Free only because of the Sacrifice of Christ.

Coincidence: This month I also happened across a work of fiction dealing with these same three people. By, drum roll please... Orson Scott Card [Sci-fi extraordinaire. Author of Ender's Game, etc.] I was intrigued- to say the least. I am nearly done reading his book, Sarah. Women of Genesis Trilogy- Book 1. Well written. Thought provoking.
