It's time for a belly update. Here we are at 27 weeks. And to be honest, I feel a lot bigger than this picture seems to indicate. But you can see that we are definitely in expansion mode. And in honor of this, I have cracked out--this weekend--the first item of maternity clothing that I have worn. The pants in the picture. I actually still have a few low rise cords that I can button, but the comfort level left this week, and since the weather has been getting colder here, I need some options besides my skirts.
I have finally gotten relief from my full body rash. The prescription cream from the dermatologist plus the child allergy pills seemed to do the trick. And I am SO glad.
I am still contracting like crazy. Most of the time they are painless and I don't really think about it. This weekend, they were so painful and so close together that I was minutes away from driving myself to the hospital. Of course this happened at night-on a weekend, with nearly every family member out of town. So, as I was timing and thinking of who to call to watch my sleeping children, they finally started to slow and we are back to the standard, sporadic contractions. But it did give me a bit of scare, so I am going to make sure that I get as much rest as I can, stay hydrated, and talk to the doctor. For some reason, the sitting position of driving seems to make them come closer together. Or I just notice them more in the quiet of the car. Hard to say.

Hmmm...I hope you don't end up needing a trip to L & D when Mark's not in town.
I think I had to wear maternity jeans at 14 weeks- but I don't have abs of steel to hold a fetus in.
