Chase and Ellis chose their pumpkins last week and waited until this past weekend for the carving. Last year, we carved too early and had moldy pumpkins on Halloween. Chase chose a medium size pumpkin, and Ellis wanted a "Tiny Baby" pumpkin.
Sunday afternoon, in order to kill time before heading the much anticipated Circus, I suggested that Mark and the girls carve the pumpkins. After all, Mark is a professional artist. And he has done a really nice job on ones in the past.
But this year, Mark informed me that he doesn't like to carve pumpkins because it is messy and slimy. So he thought he would pass this year.
So I cleaned out the pumpkins and got seeds baking in the oven. Yum.
Chase informed me that she wanted a "Cat pumpkin." Ellis said she wanted hers to be a "baby kitten." Then, they informed me that they were going to go ride bikes.
So if the pumpkins seem a little half-hearted... they are [Although you will notice that I gave them tails!] This wasn't exactly the family activity I had planned.
Considering how clumsy and accident prone I have been in the kitchen lately, I am just happy to have walked away from this activity with all of my fingers!
