We dropped Mark off at the airport this evening for his puddle jumping flight to Chicago. He'll be running the Marathon this weekend. When we dropped him off, he tried to kiss Chase good-bye and she turned her head away from him and said "Gross, Don't kiss me." Then he walked around to the other side and gave Ellis a good-bye kiss [She did not complain.]
And off we headed for home. And then the tears started flowing.
Chase started wailing [she has not really heard of the silent cry, or just shedding a tear.] "I miss Daddy! And I didn't get a kiss! Wahhhhh!!!!"
I tried to point out that she didn't let him give her a kiss.
"But he should have done it anyway!"
And then Ellis starts crying, "I wanted a kiss, too."
I pointed out that she DID get a kiss.
"But it wasn't a GOOD NIGHT KISS."
Needless to say, it was a long, long drive home.
Chase's last words before bed tonight?
"He better give me that kiss on Sunday. Or he'll be in BIG, BIG trouble. Is tomorrow Sunday?"
Looks like it might be a long, long weekend.
