Houdini Baby

I think I must have jinxed myself yesterday by mentioning Houdini Baby.

Ellis hadn't used her escape talents in quite sometime.

Until today.

On the way home from Grandma and Grandpa's house, Ellis asked "Mommy, may I ask a question."

I answer "Sure." as I glanced quickly into the back seat.

To see Ellis perched on the edge of her seat. Unbuckled.*

Her question went unanswered as I sternly told her to sit back and buckle herself IMMEDIATELY. [Which she also knows how to do.] She sat back and told me "NO. I don't want to be buckled."

She was extremely ticked when I pulled into the nearest driveway and told her we weren't moving until she buckled. She flipped out when I told her I would do it for her. So we waited.

She gave in and buckled herself.

When we got home, I stopped at the end of the driveway to get the mail, and I turned around to see her climbing out of the car.

The little stinker had done it again.

Time to get out the padlock.

*The top section of the car seats (we have tried several different models) are too easy to undo and then she can easily wiggle out of the rest of the buckles. When she was younger, she could contort herself to escape without undoing anything. No matter how tightly she was strapped into the seat.
