Timing

It took about 2 seconds.

Mark hopped out of the car and went to open the back door to get Ellis. I hit the unlock button. It all came together at the same time and...

Jammed the lock. And since Houdini baby (AKA Ellis, she who has been able to get out of her car seat since she was about 9 months old.) cannot be trusted-- child lock was on... and therefore, the door was stuck shut.

So this morning we headed out to my favorite mechanic, Scotty. On the phone he had told me that it should be a snap. Not a big deal to fix.

Well.

It wasn't.

Once they managed to get the door open.

Which took three mechanics two hours to do.

That's right, folks.

Three.

Two hours.

They ended up having to take the door panel apart from the inside with the door still shut. Turns out that nothing was broken, just that the lock was jammed.

Thank goodness he wasn't charging me by the hour or by the number of people that it took to fix it!

Did I mention that he is my favorite mechanic? A real gem!
