Motherhood is HOT

Ehow.com suggests using a hot potato, a jar of hot water, a hot water bottle, or even a rock from the fire to heat your bed.

They fail to mention the high-fevered-sick-kid approach.

Of course, this approach does have its disadvantages.

Last night, Ellis slept [and I use that term VERY lightly] on my chest. Her steaming hot body was sprawled across me while she whimpered, cried, and sucked her thumb VERY loudly. At 1am she threw up on me. And peed at the same time. Oh yes. A special joy of motherhood.

But I was warm. Very, very warm.
