Anything look familiar hanging on that barn? For those of you that go WAY back with me, you probably used to see it hanging on a big red barn in Shallersville. The Ahren's homestead. It has since relocated to a little barn on the beach. You might call this a form of retirement.Over the 4th of July weekend, I was lucky enough to be able to squeeze in a visit with Sonja, my friend of - 30 years! Yikes, how did that happen. Her brother's, Fred, wife was there with his kids and in the picture you see 2 year old Madison sitting on a swing with Chase and Ellis.
Sonja's kids, Morgan and John, spent most of the time in the FREEZING water!
We were not that adventurous. We did take a tour around the lake on the party boat - seen here being decorated for the 4th of July Boat Parade by Sonja and Donnie.
Can't beat a visit with old friends!

I never realized you and Sonja knew each other for so long! Isn't it great to know that you have friends that have been with you for just about your entire life though? They're really family.
