We saw the traveling Broadway show, Mary Poppins, last night. And it was.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, that is...
But really, should I have expected less from a production produced by Disney?
Probably not.
The sets were AMAZING. Automated and detailed. I almost enjoyed them more than the show!
The show followed the stories in the Mary Poppins books more closely than the movie did. It incorporated music from the movie, but added some original pieces as well. Refreshing to have it not simply be a stage set movie!
The statues in the park were deemed scary by Ellis. Notice the statue behind Jane and Michael? It will come to life and talk and dance. Not a hit with the 3 year old crowd. More statues are added and are mythological creatures and I agree that they were a little creepy.
My favorite part was definitely the Chimney Sweep Dance Number! The tapping was fabulous and Bert walks up the wall and tap dances UPSIDE DOWN on the ceiling! I loved it!
I highly recommend it! But as fun as it was, I am dragging today! Guess I am getting to old to stay out late on a weeknight!

I'm so jealous! I always want to go to those kinds of things and no one ever wants to go with me.
